Children aged 5 to 11 years may travel alone, without their parents. A UM (unaccompanied minor) service must be requested for children travelling alone.
Children aged 12 to 16 years may travel without supervision. You are free to book the UM service for these children.
Furthermore, all minors (up to and including 17 years) travelling without their father, mother or legal guardian, require a travel permit. This travel permit must meet the following requirements:
- signed by one of the parents or legal guardian
- address and telephone number of the person with whom they live
- travel dates and flight numbers
For the TUI fly travel permit we refer to the following document: Handling advice document for unaccompanied minors and young passengers
Minors must show the completed travel permit at check-in.
The UM service is compulsory for children aged 5 to 11 years travelling alone, and is optional for children aged 12 to 16 years travelling alone. The UM service includes supervision of the child from the moment of check-in up to and including collection at the destination, and all necessary care needed during the flight.
The surcharge for UM service is € 60 per person per single journey. Children travelling alone are not entitled to a child discount on the flight price.
Requests for UM service can be made to your travel agent.
