“Decent Stay”
We stayed at Hotel Kristall-Saphir for a week. What we liked about the hotel:
- We had a nice view of the mountains from the bedroom.
- The bedroom was quite spacious.
- Free parking is available right next to the hotel.
- There is a ski storage area available.
- We liked the wellness facility. The sauna, steam bath and jacuzzi was a pleasant addition to have.

- The gym has good quality equipments.
- The masseuse was very nice and skilled.
- The tea/coffee/cake in the afternoon were tasty and much appreciated.
- The staff in general were all kind, responsive and helpful.
- As I had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes just before the trip, I appreciated the efforts to adapt some of the menus.
What could be improved:
- The room in itself is quite basic: very old style, uncomfortable pillows, and old bedsheets/towels. Some basic amenities such as shampoo and a kettle would be an added value.
- The breakfast was very basic and lacked variety and quality.
- The 4-course dinners were a hit and miss; some of the combinations didn’t work well together and the soups contain too much stock cubes.
- The fitness room would be complete with more weights available.
- Whilst the staff spoke English, most of the written information (such as daily menus) are provided only in German and French.
